Description |
This is an attractive complex with three lakes on a well laid out attractive site, which caters for the caravans and campers. There are plenty of facilities on the site including a tackle shop, toilets including those with disabled access. The water is also suitable for anglers with disabilities as the pegs are flat and many have platforms out over the water. There are three ponds in total, the first is the old pond, with 25 pegs and is about 2 acres in size. It is a nice lake with some good depths of up to 8 feet in places. The water holds a variety of fish including carp to 8lb, tench to 5lb, with plenty of roach and perch, the best at about 1lb. The second lake is called Abbie, again at about 2 ½ acres and averaging about 61/2 ft deep with 27 pegs in total. This water holds plenty of silver fish with a good stock of bream, roach, perch and ide. There are also a good stock of carp, commons, mirrors and a good head of crucians (possibly brown goldfish). The third water is the newest on site and is called the "Cut" as its name suggests it is in the shape of a canal and features both near and far marginal shelves. There are only 10 pegs on this ½ acre water that average 5 ft deep. The best tactics to employ here are to bring a wide selection of baits, those which do work well include maggot, caster, nutty carp pellets and mini carp pellets which will keep the fish interested. The fish will fall fairly close in, to either the waggler or pole, another good idea is to put the pole out to the lily pads for some good tench. |
